Customer Review: Egg cooker not what it is cracked out to be

First use; the cooking base discolored once eggs were hardboiled. Eggs were room temperature, yet the piercing pin cracked one egg. Previous product reviews stated unable to clean cooked egg off cooking base, so I tossed the cracked egg out.
Second use; piercing pin cracked another egg, which I tossed out. After eggs were hard boiled, the discoloration on the cooking base covered a larger portion of the unit. We tried cleaning the discoloration off the cooking base with no success. No idea what is causing the ugly stain.
We are disappointed with the Maverick Egg Cooker and will buy another brand, perhaps after the third use.
Not a happy consumer!
